We don’t dress for men, we dress for ourselves. We don’t take photos for the male gaze, we take photos for ourselves. We don’t need compliments from men, we need to love ourselves. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Truth: I was in a relationship with a guy who was a misogynist. It was my fault because my father was too and I thought it was normal. I didn’t realize how toxic that attitude was until I left and met someone who respected me as an individual. I was confused for a long time .. he would say things like “who you trying to look good for?” “Why are you taking so many selfies?” He’d make fun of me for wanting to look good for myself and assumed it was for attention. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Because of social media, I feel less alone and more normal. I don’t care if I “expose” myself or “try too hard”, because I’m not, im doing this because it makes me happy. 💪🏼💕
