Yea, you read that title right. Since it's -20c in Winnipeg I figured we could try some fun places to do a session. When my partner and I first started dating, we used to just go to Ikea and hangout. (It's kind of weird, I know). There's tons of places at Ikea to sit-down and interact with so why not?
I was inspired by shoots like this adorable family session by The Lovely Lens Photography and a great video by Jessica Kobeissi ft Mango Street about shooting in "ugly places".
Using the available light was really important. I didn't feel that it was appropriate to bring my portable lights to a public place especially since I'd have to take down and set up over and over.
What I used:
- available light
- 7-in-1 reflector
- 5D MK 2
- 50mm 1.8
- 85mm 1.8
